Water Quality Project

The Legue of Women Voters of Colorado Education Fund has a long history of informing Coloradoans about protecting water quality.

Today its two statewide programs continue that tradition.

AWARE Colorado educates the local decision makers about the impacts of land use choices on water quality, and informs them about innovative land use strategies to protect the state's wate and natural resources from polluted runoff.

The other program is the Colorado Water Protection Project, which increases public awareness about the causes of - and solutions to-urban polluted runoff resulting from household activities. The project publishes the quarterly e-newletter Colorado NPS Connection, which is available on the Web and as a free subscription.

Both of these nonpartisan programs receive funding from the Colorado Department of Public Healh and Environment through grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
