VOLUME 37, NUMBER 11 •  December 2022

Lauren Boebert's narrow victory confirmed by mandatory recount in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District.

A mandatory recount of votes cast in the Garfield County Republican’s narrow 2022 win over Democrat Adam Frisch, a former Aspen City Councilman, was completed Monday. Boebert’s margin of victory over Frisch shrunk to 546 votes, or 0.07 percentage points, from 550 votes before the recount.

Boebert lost three votes in the recount, while Frisch gained 1 vote. The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office said the slight changes were made after bipartisan teams of election judges “readjudicated ballots and reviewed all under or over voted ballots for voter intent.”

Pueblo City Council tables anti-abortion ordinance following controversy around potential new abortion clinic

By a slim margin, Pueblo City Council voted to table a proposed ordinance that would have essentially banned abortion providers in the city. The 4-3 vote comes just weeks after a first reading narrowly passed. Read more about the tabled anti-abortion ordinance here.

This week, members of the Reproductive Justice Task Force joined with LWV Pueblo to testify against a city-wide abortion ban in Pueblo; the vote failed, and for now, reproductive rights are safe in Pueblo. To learn more about our Reproductive Justice Task Force, click here.
