Governor Polis Signs Four Gun Bills into Law

This suite of new laws signed today, have several impacts on gun violence in Colorado. The new laws raise the age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21. They also install a three-day waiting period between the purchase and receipt. They enhance our existing red flag laws by allowing a judge to temporarily remove a firearm from an individual who is dangerous to themselves or others. Lastly the laws expose the firearm industry to lawsuits from gun violence victims.
