LWV Responds to Supreme Court Decision Legalizing Discrimination Against Same-Sex Couples

Today, League of Women Voters of the United States President Dr. Deborah Turner issued the following statement after

the Supreme Court held that a Colorado website designer may discriminate against same-sex couples in her wedding website business based upon her right to free expression under the First Amendment.  To read more click here.


LWV Responds to Supreme Court Gutting Affirmative Action in College Admissions

LWVUS President Dr. Deborah Turner issued the following statement after the Supreme Court struck down race-conscious admissions policies at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina.  To read more click here.


US Supreme Court Rejects "Independent State Legislature" Theory in Moore v Harper Elections Case
The US Supreme court affirmed the role of state court judicial review in a major victory for checks and balances and the constitutional rights of voters.  To read more click here.
